Drug treatment Omegaven that could save infants' lives not yet approved by FDA
Fri Jun 7, 2013
I'm not sure I understand the "compassionate use" restrictions that are described here. Our daughter has been receiving "compassionate use" medication from the Republic of Georgia for the last several years, shipped to us via FedEx.
White House defends IRS handling, McConnell asserts 'culture of intimidation'
Sun May 19, 2013
Regardless of the results of this investigation, the truth is that there is a culture of intimidation at the IRS. In the 90s, the key phrase was "a kinder, gentler IRS". That philosophy no longer exists.
Higher taxes for some, tax breaks for others in Obama budget
Wed Apr 10, 2013
It makes no sense to me to decide to limit somebody's ability to save for retirement with pre-tax funds. These investments will be taxed at some point anyway - if they aren't taxed at the time they are invested in 401(k) or IRA, they will be taxed when they are taken out.
Fiscal cliff deal: House OKs proposal despite GOP objections
Wed Jan 2, 2013
These amounts are taxable income, but couples with incomes over $300k and individuals with incomes over $250k will have limits on deductions and exemptions, like they did under Clinton..
Nearly out of time, lawmakers brace for blame on fiscal cliff
Thu Dec 27, 2012
In our business, when we face a problem, we focus first on how to fix the problem. We don't spend days, weeks, months or years trying to affix blame for not fixing the problems.

Wed Dec 26, 2012
Also dangerous for people recovering from surgery, accidents, etc. Our daughter was supposed to be there for 4-5 days following foot surgery. She got hospital-acquired pneumonias and ended up there for 9 weeks. Unless someone is facing life-or-death situation, stay out of the hospital.
Very heavily armed gunman shot mother multiple times before killing 26 at Connecticut school, police say
Sun Dec 16, 2012
Why do you want to know this? So you can lobby for restrictions on video games?
Mom who took child with cancer from hospital speaks out
Wed Dec 12, 2012
Going to the hospital is always dangerous. Our daughter went in for surgery, ended up there for 9 weeks and contracted 2 multi-drug resistant infections.
Caregivers neglect their own health in order to look after others
Tue Dec 11, 2012
I can so relate to your post. My mom is 91 and has dementia. Physically she is in good shape, but she thinks it's 50 years ago, and things are very confusing for her. She lives with us and follows me around like a lost puppy.
Snyder signs Michigan anti-union 'right to work' measures over protests of thousands
Tue Dec 11, 2012
It's hard to believe all the union bashers on here. My grandfather was a railroad worker, and the unions were instrumental in getting benefits for him. Our daughter needs personal care services, and all of her caregivers are SEIU members.
